A day in the life...

Your day will start off with an early morning drive - the best times to see the animals is before it gets too hot! Normally we'll head out around sunrise, and on occasion we'll be getting out slightly earlier to make sure we photograph the sunrise too. For a day-to-day description, click here.

Getting up  close and personal...

In the safe hands of qualified professionals, you'll be getting great shots while your guides make sure the animals' welfare is being looked after at all times, all part of our responsible tourism ethics at Wild Africa.

As the animals approach, your guide will show you how to act to get the best out of the sighting.

The 'Big 5'
Back to the lodge...

It's back to the lodge for breakfast (or second breakfast for any hungry hippos like me), where you'll have the opportunity to look through your photos.

In the early afternoon you can sleep off your lunch, relax around the lodge and your professional photographer will be on hand to advise on post production - from backing up your photographs to individual advice on how best to 'polish' the amazing shots from the day. We'll also be running the occasional presentation and critique so you have the opportunity to show off your best photos.

Special trips...

One of our many highlights is a potentially life-changing trip to the local reptile park where you can get as close - or as far away - from some of the most venomous snakes (and also spiders and other reptiles) in the world!

"I've seen people with a severe phobias come to the reptile park. Through education and understanding, the only thing they leave with is respect. And hopefully, some great photos!"

Donald Strydon, Owner, 34 years

Out in the afternoon...

After a relaxing afternoon, and as the day cools down, we'll head out on drive again. Once we've got some cracking shots, we'll stop at a viewpoint to watch the sun set along with a cheeky 'sundowner' drink of your choice.

The Sky at Night...

When the skies are clear, we'll try our hand at astral photography - different techniques provide massively different results, as you'll learn for yourself. Your photographer, as always, will be on hand to offer professional advice.
