Wilderness and River Safaris is a member of the Travel Trust Association. Our membership number is U1176. The Travel Trust Association provides consumer and financial protection for our clients and ensures that we comply with European and United Kingdom regulations regarding the Travel Industry.

Under the TTA scheme, client funds are protected through a Trust Account operated by an independent trustee and backed by fidelity insurance underwritten by AIG Europe Ltd.

We act as tour operators whereby each safari is treated as an individual package in which specific ground arrangements, accommodations and activities are included.

In cases where flight bookings are organised we act as retail agents for various ATOL protected operators. These fares are treated separately from the safari package and consumers are protected under the ATOL statutory scheme managed by the Civil Aviation Authority.

Travel Trust Association
TTA is a Trade Association including over 450 Travel Agents and Tour Operators in the UK. The Association is organised to:

1. Regulate its members through a strict Code of Conduct

2. Provide financial protection to consumers and recognised suppliers of TTA members

At the core of the scheme, all client funds received are held in an independently operated Trust Account on behalf of all parties until the services are provided or someone else becomes responsible for the protection of those funds:

Where a TTA Member acts as an Organiser as defined in the Package Travel Regulations, funds received from the client are released only on completion of the client's tour.

If the package includes an airline ticket booked with an ATOL holder, then these funds are released to the ATOL holder who is then responsible for providing the consumer with financial protection in accordance with CAA Regulations
