'We are just back from THE most fantastic trip to Namibia! A big thank you to you for all your advice- everything went so smoothly and we are most impressed, not only with the country as a whole, but with the quality of the camps in which we stayed. We thoroughly admired the ethos of Wilderness Safaris as a company and the organisation and friendliness of all the Wilderness Safari Lodges and Staff were second to none. Mushara and Okonjima & Amani were also superb, and we particularly liked the Olive Grove in Windhoek. Your choice of itinerary, and suggestions were all extremely well chosen. The Skeleton coast trip was an experience in itself, and we had such a friendly group of fellow travellers that our holiday got off to an amazing start. This is our second holiday with Wilderness& River Safaris - we look forward to booking with you again.' Sue & Ian Dennis on their return from Namibia.
'Just wanted to let you know that we just returned from an incredible holiday. It was everything and more than we ever expected. The pictures in the brochures are great but its not until you're stood in the landscape that you can appreciate the scale and beauty of the landscape. It was stunning. The trip was made even more special by our fantastic guide Douw Steyn, he was faultless, a great character and knew everything there was to know from lichens to mountain ranges. He must be one of your top guides as we couldn't have had better. All of the camps were excellent - highly recommendable. Thanks again for a memorable holiday' Deb Butler on her return from Namibia.
'Just a quick e-mail to say that my wife and I had a truly unforgettable time at Little Governor's Camp in the Masai Mara, and all your arrangements were superb. I shan't hesitate to recommend you guys to others - our neighbours will probably be contacting you soon! Thanks for your excellent service.' Bruce Collins on his return from Kenya.
‘Both Namibia and the lodges in which we stayed far exceeded our expectations; the country was fantastic, beautiful and laid-back, and the lodges were outstanding, with universally friendly and helpful staff. The holiday was incredible; we could of easily stayed in each location for a week! We cannot thank the staff at various lodges enough. It proved easy to drive around, provided the car was refuelled at every opportunity – we even managed a few adventures self-driving as well. And of course, the wildlife was stunning. Highlights were rhino tracking on foot, sea kayaking with seals, Etosha, and tracking cheetah and leopard at Okonjima. We would also like to thank you for your efficiency and helpfulness in arranging the trip, especially at relatively short notice, and for your prompt response to my e-mails. I would certainly make you my first port of call once I have saved up enough for my next safari. Once again, many thanks for arranging this fantastic trip.’ Helen Redpath on her return from Namibia.
'Well, what can I say, we were not sure what to expect on this tour but OH MY GOD, it was absolutely the best thing ever, bar none. From the very first morning when we met Chicco our guide for the 12 days, it was just the most amazing experience. Only four of us on the tour so it was like a personalised safari. We set off on our adventure with the ever cheerful, knowledgable, and resourceful Chicco, passing through stunning scenery, that constantly changes and suprises. The places we camped were mind blowing in their beauty, ie Spittzkoppe, Sessriem, Quiver Tree, Aba Huab, Waterberg Plataeu....just totally alone around campfire chillin' under a million stars. Not only that but Klein Aus Vista remote bush bungalow, well I was speachless at the location of that, and the sunsets in Namibia are something to behold (out of this world). The animals we saw too were amazing, most spectacular were the rare desert elephant. Just prior to this sighting Chicco came to an abrupt but totally safe stop after spotting elepant tracks on the dusty gravel road, none of us believed him as they looked like they'd been drawn by finger in the dust, but sure enough after a little looking one, two, five, seven, eleven desert elephant crossed the dusty road right in front of us (absolutely magical). I could write pages and pages of the splendor and fun we had on this adventure. I cannot thank you guys enough for organising such an amazing 12 days for Liz and myself, every second was actioned packed, we cannot believe the amount packed in to just 12 days......and she's even now conquered her fear of snakes (well nearly) after spotting a huge black mamba alive on the road..WOW. I highly recommend this and you to everyone. Thank you Wilderness and River Safaris for a once in a lifetime holiday.' Darren Lovell on his return from Namibia
'We had an excellent time, we had particularly expressed an interest in birds and primates and we saw most things we were looking for, including of course the Gorilla and Chimps which made the trip completely unforgettable. Our driver/guide (Alfred) was very good and knowledgeable about the birds, animals and culture and was extremely professional and innovative. We were able to see 279 species of birds of which about 80 of these were lifetime firsts for us which made the trip particularly exciting. We were particularly pleased to see the famous Shoebill, which Alfred ensured we saw much to our delight. All the accommodation was excellent and lived up to descriptions and gave us a variety of great experiences, we were made to feel very welcome by everybody and all food was good.' Sue Blair on her return from Uganda.
'For our honeymoon we wanted to do something different to the normal beach holiday and we decided to use Wilderness and River Safaris. From the beginning the holiday was organised and tailored to suit all our needs and we were given a comprehensive tour programme detailing all the arranged trips and tours. The Honeymoon itself was out of this world, all our pick ups and trips went as planned without us having to wait or worry. The accommodation was of the finest standard and the whole experience finished off our wedding perfectly. I would have no hesitation in recommending Wilderness and River Safaris to anyone and will certainly be telling all of my friends. Many thanks.' Steven Smith on his return from the Galapagos Islands.
'Just wanted to say a big thanks for helping to arrange a fantastic holiday for the two of us. As you can see we had a wonderful experience on Ngamba and would highly recommend this for any of your future clients doing a primate safari in Uganda. Every-time we think back to our forest walk, we both get a lump in our throat. The Gorilla trekking was truly wonderful, we had great viewing both day's, the 6hr hike was so worth it. The memories we have will last for a very long time.' Julian Cuss on his return from Uganda.
'I would like to thank you very much for organising our trip to Botswana and Victoria Falls in August. It was the most fantastic holiday that I have ever had and it will stay in my memory for a very long time. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with such friendly smiles and were made to feel so welcome. The level of service was far more than I could have ever expected - it was amazing. All the camps and the facilities were fantastic, and it was all of the little touches that made it so special. On one of our nights in the 1st camp, we were treated to a surprise meal out in the bush. This was a very touching experience and I was amazed by the lengths all the staff had gone to to organise this. We were served a 4 course meal which had all been transported into the bush and cooked by the camp fire. They had even remembered to bring the whole bar along too!!
The game viewing was fantastic - each day was filled with something different from viewing hippos from our mokoro's to watching a leopard with a kill up a tree. I just can not express in words what a fantastic experience this was. We rounded off our trip with 3 days in Victoria Falls. This was another breathtaking experience. We had a helicopter flight over the falls which was fantastic and we also went white water rafting which was certainly an experience not to be missed! I would like to thank everyone at Wilderness and River Safaris for making this such a special and memorable holiday, and will most certainly be recommending you to anyone and everyone! Thank you once again, and I'll start saving for the next time!!' Kathryn Taylor & Charles James on their return from Botswana
'We had a really good time and would not hesitate to commend the services of Wilderness Safaris on the ground - very impressive organisation. Best wishes, Lesley'. Lesley Mortimer on her return from Malawi
'The holiday was fantastic we have both been recommending it to any one who'll listen. Ngamba was fantastic a real highlight and as the keepers said its more than you could hope for. Ndali lodge also is a fantastic place with beautiful scenery and nightly communal candle lit meals for the guests and Host ( no electricity which only adds to the ambience). The food was fantastic and Aubrey was an excellent host. The gorillas [in Rwanda] were amazing, and the hour and a half we spent with them passed so quickly. The accommodation was great all round with no complaints at all. The people were all friendly and welcoming, couldn't of hoped for more in all. Joseph [their guide] was great, he was friendly, very knowledgeable and good company on the long roads. All in all brilliant and if anyone wants to contact us to vouch for the holiday or its organization I'd be happy. Thanks a lot and time for me to start saving and get my atlas out. Thank you for your time and help. Now time to get the photos organised, Louise has managed to get some fantastic ones of the chimps and gorillas. Mine are pretty poor in contrast, my trusty boots disposable just isn't up to the job! Thanks again - Louise and Richard'. Richard Sloper on his return from Uganda
'Thank you very much again from Huw and I for a really great trip. We'll try to do it again, and of course through you! On our Tanzanian safari with Wilderness and River Safaris, we saw every one of the animals we hoped to see, including black rhino, and lots more besides. But the animals were only part of the magic. The vast landscapes were awe-inspiring, and the experience as a whole absolutely wonderful. Plus, we had a safari driver with years of experience who seemed to know every inch of the territory like the back of his hand, was a mine of information on the wildlife, and went out of his way to please us. And a cook who never stopped smiling and produced the most amazingly good and interesting food despite the simple conditions of camping. The tents were spacious and comfortable, and the organisation of the trip, from start to finish, absolutely flawless. We were able to use every minute of our time to best effect. In Tanzania, everyone was extremely friendly, kind and welcoming. I would recommend this trip to anyone of any age who has a spirit of adventure, and I would certainly recommend Wilderness and River Safaris, whose personal attention deserves the very highest praise. More like friends than a travel company.' John Corness after his trip to Northern Tanzania
'The trip was excellent and well organised, we had a fantastic holiday and would be more than happy to recommend Namibia and Wilderness & River Safaris. We may well get you to organise something for us again in the future.' Harry Dhand after his self drive holiday to Namibia
'We had the trip of a lifetime - it was fantastic in every sense. We saw all of the big five but the highlight was a cheetah kill in the Ngorongoro Crater. Our guide was fantastic and if you have any clients who are especially interested in birds, he is your man - he can spot any bird miles off and when we weren't hunting for cheetahs we were looking at a fantastic array of birds that others might miss. What really impressed us though was his empathy with the environment and the animals and his genuine love for his job and his country. We really enjoyed meeting him and would highly recommend him to anyone else. He was patient in our desire to see what we wanted and was quite prepared to get up early and get out there. I would have not changed a thing except to have more time in Tanzania - our issue. Thanks for your time in organising a great trip for us - we are hoping that our photos will come out!' Kate Armstrong on her trip to Northern Tanzania
'We would both like to thank you for an UNBELIEVABLE holiday. I wont bore you with the details but for all the different parts of the trip we were met when we should have been and everyone on the transfers were brilliant. The only problem was that when we got back to the UK our cab didn't pick us up (typical UK!). With ten flights we were certain that something would have happened and we were really pleased that it was all so smooth. Chobe was everything we could have wished for and I would give the lodge 10 out of 10 for the quality of the accommodation, the staff, and the guides. I would recommend them to any one without hesitation. The Delta lodge was like paradise. Not a TV or newspaper in sight. We walked for 4 or 5 hours in the mornings and never met another person, only us and the animals (including 2 leopards on the first day!). Smaller companies like yours are more likely to expand through personal recommendations and we'd both be happy to act as references for you and we wish you all the best for the future. Fond regards and thanks once again' John and Mary Kane on their trip to Botswana
'Thank you for organising our wonderful holiday in Vic Falls/Botswana. We all had a wonderful time and have come home with great memories, and some good photos too. Our guide was extremely attentive and good company and we loved everything about the Delta, right down to the hippos grunting in the dark! Louise Biddle on their trip to Victoria Falls and Botswana
'We had an absolutely fabulous time. A really memorable and great fun holiday for the 4 of us. All the accommodation was great - better than we dared hope actually. All had pools for mid day sunbathing apart from the Hansa. Sossusvlei and Ongava were probably favourites but we loved Hansa, Palmwag, Okapuka too. Plenty of wildlife. At Ongava you are on a private reserve which is very special. We saw rhino on several occasions at very close quarters (including the waterhole at the camp). Actually within Etosha we managed to see lots including lions, elephants etc both on our own and with the Ongava guide. We truly had a ball and were all so sad to be returning home at the end of last week. Could you send me some more brochures for us all so we can do a bit of marketing for you please?!!' Frances Stewart on her self drive to Namibia
